Activities in the Philippines

From 1999 to 2008, the Federal Court hosted four visits from the Supreme Court of the Philippines. In 2000 the Court hosted a study visit as part of a judicial training program arranged in conjunction with the Centre for Democratic Institutions at the Australian National University, granting visiting judges from the Supreme Court of Philippines an opportunity to observe proceedings and attend discussions with Federal Court judges and in 2006 the Court hosted a delegation representing the Philippine Judges Association.

The Victorian Registry also hosted a delegation from the Supreme Court and Metropolitan Trial Court in 2002 and a Supreme Court judge in 2008 who consulted with the Court’s judges and registrars on the development of case management, court-annexed mediation and performance evaluation for Australian mediators.
