Mordecai (Mordy) Bromberg is the President of the Australian Law Reform Commission.

He was appointed to the Federal Court in December 2009.

He is a National Coordinating Judge for the Federal Court’s Employment and Industrial Relations National Practice Area. He is also Chair of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law, University of Melbourne.

Having graduated from Monash University in Law and in Economics, he was an Associate to Justice Peter Gray of the Federal Court and then worked as a solicitor in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong and London. 

He joined the Victorian Bar in 1988 and in 2003 he was appointed Senior Counsel.  He practised predominantly in Industrial and Employment Law, Discrimination Law, and Administrative Law.  He was also a consultant to the International Labour Organisation.
