The Hon Stephen Andrew McDONALD

Justice McDonald was appointed to the Federal Court on 8 July 2024.

Justice McDonald graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide in 2001 and subsequently completed a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2004 from the University of Adelaide. Justice McDonald was admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2004 and was called to the South Australian Bar in 2011. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2020.

Associateship applications

Justice McDonald is not currently actively seeking applications for associate positions. His Honour does not expect to require a new associate to commence earlier than 2026, and will consider applications closer to that time.

Applications for an appointment from 2026 are invited. They should contain a cover letter, resume and academic transcript and be provided as one PDF document.
