Nye Perram was appointed to the Federal Court on 8 August 2008.

He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws and from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Civil Law. He practised as a barrister in New South Wales from 1993 and was appointed senior counsel in 2006. At the time of his appointment he was a member of the Law and Justice Foundation and the New South Wales Bar Council.



Associateship applications

Justice Perram's Chambers are staffed by two Associates. Each position is typically of 12 months' duration. The next vacant Associate positions will commence in mid-2025 and early 2026. 

Justice Perram will be taking Associateship applications for both positions between 15 July 2024 and 15 August 2024, with a view to interviewing applicants and making offers by the end of August 2024. Please be aware that Justice Perram may also appoint Associates for later periods during the selection process. 

Applications are to take the form of a one page cover letter, brief CV and university transcript. Each applicant should indicate in their cover letter their range of available working dates. Applications should not include written references.
